Book Learnin'

Monday, November 26, 2007

Once or twice a month, school kids bring home Scholastic book order forms in hopes that their parents are too tired and run down to realize the books cost half as much at the store as they do from Scholastics.

I am one of teh lazy parents who finds it easier to fork over the 8.99 for a book on Pokemon for the dog to chew on than to listen to the children whine.

I was quite pleased that they had chosen a book under five bucks and was off on my merry way.

Until I heard the boys giggling about how they would be sitting on Santa's Face over and over and over again.

I Had planned on telling them about the birds and the bee's myself, But I guess a little book learning is just as good.

I love Scholastic! I loved it when I was little. I loved it when my kids would bring it home and I love it when Isabelle does!

I usually let Sparky order a Scholastic book, but you know me. It has to be one of the cheaper ones. There are just too many other places I can get them for less.

Now the Santa Whoopee cushion? That might be worth it...

One of the homeschool groups does Scholastic, and I used to get some once in a while. If you are very careful you can sometimes find a good deal in there. I got the entire Little House series once for a Christmas present for the munchkin.

But I like cheap better than I like convenient.

If there is anyone to learn about the birds and the bees from, it's Santa.

Katie yup. Its one to be filed in the things kids say category!

Fantastagirl Embrace Teh Lazy!

Sheila Hey! So long as they don't fart, I think Santa will be OK, besides, maybe Santa LIKES little boys and they will get something Really Special for Christmas this year!

Avitable I dunno, Ive never tried it!

Shelli I used to like it, but then again, they used to send one booklet thing to order from home, maybe three times a year, now its three or four order sheets and every two weeks :o(

Blogarita pass on it, those whoopee cushions break almost immediately. If you want a good whoopee cushion, go to a gag store and spend the full ten bucks on it.

Marilyn the key word is sometimes The brat honestly thought I was going to let him order a set of ten Pokemon books for 49.99. AS FREAKING IF!

Teee heee! I want one of those whoopi cushions too!

Last year I gave my son and step son each fart machine key rings in their stockings. They are STILL playing with those goofy things and giggling like 7 year olds.

Aren't kids just ever so fun? haha

I loved getting Scholastic books when I was a kid, but as the bad mom that I am, I find them entirely too expensive. If I make but one purchase they won't allow me to stop.
