Have you ever wondered how people pick their screen names? I know I have.
Some are easy. Like One Tall Momma ... She's a mom and six feet tall! But what about all of the others? OTM is the only name I can readily see the reasoning behind it.
And My Screen name? What on earth is a Bluepaintred? A food? A TV Show? A sex toy? Seriously.. Was I on Crack when I picked it? Come on, I know you've wondered. Well the truth is...I never inhaled.
About four years ago I was introduced to Yahoo Chat by my BFF Kiss. They were Hella amusing. The fights we would start, the caps lock screaming, the swears, the death threats...ahh good times. The first ID I tried was Weirdangle69. But it was taken. So I tired roughly thirty thousand other ID's that were all more outlandish then the last. All taken.
At my wits end, I looked around the computer desk, searching for inspiration. At this time, Rainbow Man was most enthralled with Spiderman. He had a white dresser and I was in the middle of painting it like so :
What do you suppose I saw sitting on my computer table? Bluepaintred was born.

I'm in the Blogger Witness Protection Program - Mr. Incredible chose my new name. Fantastagirl...cause I'm so fantastic...or something like that.

I was just telling Spouse Guy that I had no idea why you were called Bluepaintred. Now we know!
Like FG, I had to go into the BWPP (Blogger Witness Protection Program) and I was trying to come up with something anonymous and snarky. I came up with Prima Blogarina, (that was even my login for the old beta version), but as I was setting up the new blog, Margaritaville came on the radio and I put two and two together and came up with Blogarita and Blogaritaville at the same time.
I got the idea for "Time spent blogging is time well wasted" from Brad Paisley's album called "Time Well Wasted".
I Big Daddy is what all my Hoes in the trailer park call me...LOL!! No It's something I came up with. Then just now I googled it and I found some other guy in Texas using that name. Fucker!
And Gonzo is along story. In fact that gives me an idea for a future post.
You don't have to call me BigDaddy if it's too weird.
Ah Ha! I wondered but I didn't want to ask because what if you were still taking LSD and I gave you a flashback? I'd hate to be responsible for an uncontrollable session of Fraggle Rock watching.
My first screen name was my name, duh. But someone kept referring to me as a name I picked up as a screen name and kept for a very long time.
Since then, i've taken on several SNs based on the title of my blogs/websites.
I'm planning on sticking with this one.
You know the name fits you now though....I guess we grow into these names. Catchme99 was for a time I was online in the chatrooms. I tried to think of a catchy name.....ala catchme....99 is for the year I first came on line.....I met so many people and they all called me Catch..so when I started my blog instead of using my real name I went with Catch. Now it just fits!
I did always wonder...thanks for telling us all! Oh, and we won't find out about SlowMo and the Marfan Syndrome for 8 - 10 weeks!! Can you believe that crap??

I've always wondered about your screen name, I even state that I don't know what it means on your link on my blog, and so I am glad to finally know.

My name, Angry Buttons, is less a description of me and more a reference to one of my phobias. It’s funny because everyone in the blogosphere just assumed that my first name was Angry and that’s how I’m now addressed by many people. But as my therapy continues, I am getting closer to having the strength to reveal just what these phobias are.
