Any ideas how to cool off my laptop?

I know they are supposed to heat up somewhat.

But it hurts my fingers to type on them too long.

From said Heat.

Is it just that it has been so damn hot lately?

Gotta go.

Sorry

It's just too damn hot to have this thing turned on!

You can get a cooling pad for your laptop. It's not very thick clips to the bottom and has a couple of fans in it. I'll see if I have time tomorrow, I'll search it out for ya!!

Do you use a lap tray? You should. It helps it from getting so hot.

Make sure you aren't covering the vents on the side, that help cool the innards.

A maybe stupid, but effective way in the meantime is to place to equal stacks of paper with a gap in the middle on a desk, and then place the laptop on top of it. In other words, there will be a bit of air under the laptop. This helped for my company laptop which is really old. Suppose its not a very glam way of doing it, but it does help ;)

You guys are awesome.

Here is what i will do. Until I can get to a store (maybe Thursday?) Me and Lappy will be stacking it, glam or not, if it works then that rocks. Then I will buy the cooling pad thingy.

another question though, is it ok that I tend to leave her turned on for days at a time? I leave her on alllll day and usually forget to turn her off at bedtime.

Are laptops meant to be on all the time or no?

I got a cooling pad that's powered by a USB port. It's awesome. I velcro'd it to the bottom of my laptop. It's better for the laptop and it keeps your lap from catching fire.

I don't know about laptops, but I really try to shut my desk computer off, especially on hot days.

You know what else would help...moving to another part of the country were the weather is always perfect, never extremely hot or extremely cold.
