Im shocked he waited!

My brother Daniel is having surgery in an hour. Seems he got hurt last night at midnight at Work. His arm was not supposed to be somewhere an something heavy fell on it. I do not have very many details, as he works on the rigs like 16 hours from us and the info he has been sending has been interspersed with pain meds.
So far, what I know is this: the bone has been "crushed" there has been muscle "damage" and there is bactiria in the muscle. I dont know the extent of the crushing or damage, but the orthopedic surgeon who saw him told him to go to "enter town name here" for surgery and IV in his arm he drove to the hospital.. ( i think its an hour or so away from where he was) HIMSELF, not only that but he worked out his shift (seven more hours) before driving himself to the first hospital!.......ummmm how?
Anyway we are hopeful he will have an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.. maybe he will need physio for the muscle damnage.. will update on his condition as I hear !
